My laptop just fell out of my bed. My lofted bed.
I had a roommate once who fell out of a lofted bed.
She broke her shoulder. And I don't imagine a shoulder's an easy bone to break, what with it being more plate-shaped than rod -shaped.
Computerus is...inexplicably fine...? How...?

If you could go back and fix your most regrettable decision, what would it be, and what would you do differently?

Or:

Pirates or Ninjas?

View 501 Answers

oh, dude, totally pirates. i mean, how much can ninjas possibly get to travel? plus, those mask things have got to get really muggy and uncomfy.

hee... this was too funny not to answer.
now if it were pirates vs. ninjas in a fight, the ninjas would win, hands-down...

Mr Bradfield is one of the greatest people ever.
today he and I were walking up to lunch and complaining about our assigned lunch tables. I mentioned that i am sitting with Mr. Casella. Mr. Casella can be one of those annoying, arrogant drips who think they are very, very cool and constantly try to convince you to feel the same. Mr Bradfield attempted to cheer me up, and i said very flatly that Mr. Casella is obnoxious. Understatement of the century. However, Mr B bursts out laughing, he's gasping for breath and his face starts to turn all red. I didn't think it was that funny to start off.
anyway, when he finally gets ahold of himself, he says that'll keep him smiling through lunch as we head off to our respective tables.
later, I am sitting at my lunch table with Casella and various other students. He is talking to one girl, very loudly, and ignoring the others for the most part. He starts to tell a story about a friend of his who went bungee jumping and tricked the guy in front of him on line into thinking he was about to plunge to his death. Abso-freaking-lutely hilarious, asshole.  Out of nowhere, an unidentified projectile hits Casella in the head. It turns out to be a packet of Equal(c) . Casella spins round in his chair, looking for the culprit. He blames a couple of freshmen, a member of the kitchen staff and Mr. Henneberry before whirling around again and fixing his eyes on me. I tell him, truthfully, that i don't have any sugar. However, as i am delivering my testimony, what do i see out of the corner of my eye but Mr Bradfield standing between the milk and the coffee-fixins station, innocently sipping a cup of coffee. He swallows and, cool as a cucumber, grins at me and says "you alright over there, Soph?"

and that is why he's my favorite teacher!

hee...i feel smart now.
it's been such a long effing time since i've even looked at an LJ (they're blocked @ school) i actually forgot how to post an entry.
wow.
but, hey, guess what i learned? either Mr. Evil Computer Man (Mr. Tech's replacement) is just lazy and he forgot about blocking everything that was ever interesting or things are UNBLOCKED ON THE WEEKEND?!?!?!
:]
yep, i got homestar and devart too...WHOOP!

also, the fashion show is over and it went SO WELL. all the little freshman were really into it, so they made awesome stuff. i wish i hadn't been working backstage, so i'd have some pics, but...well, i was.  i made my starbucks outfit and it turned out incredible. my mom got it on tape, so maybe i can put in on youtube or sumfin. or, you know, i can just watch the tape and be like *GLEE*

howdy. i'm home for the long weekend after midterms and i've been reading all over the internet that RENT is making its final farewell! in June! it makes me want to cry. or something.
i mean, i only just found out about it in October, i've only seen it on broadway once.
it isn't fair!
i mean, i already missed the return of Anthony and Adam, cause they were done like two weeks before i picked up the DVD, two, and i missed the sensation of RENTheads in the mid to late nineties, cause i was just a kid at the time and, i remember it was the year after RENT came out, my mother had to bribe me with a beanie babie to get me to go see The Sound of Music! i was too young! bad timing, birth!

and here's the worst of it: i didn't love the Mark i saw the way i simply love Anthony to the point of wishing he wasn't gay just so i could have his children-- and i don't even want kids. but i didn't fall in love with this Mark in the same way and i remember thinking to myself, well, when the cast changes, i can go see it again. FUCK NO, YOU CAN'T NOW!
i'm in mourning. i wrote lyrics to goodbye love and without you and halloween all over June 1, as well as a few not-quite-so somber songs that just have the spirit of the show. it looks pretty freaking cool actually.

on the plus side, my mom and sis have yet to see, so maybe i'll get to go again with them. my mom says there's no way in hell she's paying $55 bucks again, though, so we'll probably try to get rush seats. which would give me the full RENT experience, no? although, she thinks you can show up a couple hours in advance for those rush seat, which i'm pretty sure is totally wrong.
i'll straighten her out.

oh and i got new glasses. they look pretty cool.

How do you decorate for the holidays?

we've just finished decking out our too-small christmas tree with a thousand shorting-out light strands (wires clearly visible) and a thousand and one random ornaments, from superman and a couple robots to a mushroom-shaped bulb and hand-carved santa from a friend of my dad's. go half-assed (but very well meant and adored) decorations!

I am a potter-zombie. i have not stopped reading since i bought the book at about 12:10 yesterday morning, except for the following reasons:
1. Food is necessary
2. sleep is necessary
3. bathroom is necessary
4. moving is necessary because some, if not all, of my limbs are asleep to the point that i am not sure they belong to me any more.

but i'm finished. somehow, even though it's over, i am remarkably satisfied. there's a kind of empty sadness that there is no more, but in a way i don't mind. i've always known it would end.

Did i mention that my little brother has just begun reading the first book? *wanders away humming circle of life*

make the idiocy stop
hey all, i'm back from the vacation from hell, unfortunately mom plans for us to head out again the Tuesday after DH. or at least me, everyone else will be in baltimore.

i had the weirdest dream last night. i was at someone's house. and he was like my dad, but i wasn't me, so it really wasn't my dad.  and it was all decorated like the 70s, and he had like 90 aquariums. Fish, lizards, frogs, birds... and me and a couple of my "siblings" were visiting him. and the thing was, sometimes he was fine and he remembered us, and sometimes he didn't. this time, he was totally out of it. his caregiver kept apologizing to us.  my "siblings" and i were debating whether or not we should go. i said we should stay, because all he wanted was to listen to music with us, so all we really had to do was put on a record, listen for a little while, and then leave. so we were all sitting around listening to the music, and some people were playing with the little animals in the aquariums. i turned around from my seat on the couch and my actual little brother was sitting next to me. he was eating a salad and playing with my "dad's" pet frogs. but then he dumped all the frogs into the salad, and i realized that they weren't my dad's pets, they came with the salad, like croutons. he was, you know, crunching away and asked if i wanted one. this being a dream, i was like, "okay!"  and i ate a few of the little live frogs. they were slimy and slick, and when i woke up, i couldn't shake the feeling that i still had little frog bits stuck in my teeth.
no breakfast for me, thanks!

Chandler and Tintin!

i was watching TO that could have been last night and there's one scene in which Chandler comes into the girls' apartment, gleefully announcing that he's sold a story to Archie comics. what is he wearing? a blue Tintin t-shirt!
i love Tintin. it was my favorite comic when i was little, aside from Donald Duck and Little Lulu. Oh and let's not forget Little Nemo in Slumberland. and i loved Calvin and Hobbes, and Peanuts. and now there's Gregory, and Doonesbury. But i LOVED Tintin, too. and nobody knows the brilliance that is Tintin. He's this teenage reporter and he goes on all these adventures with his friends: Captain Haddock, a blustery sailor and alcoholic, Professor Calculus, the absent minded professor, Thomson and Thompson, the eerily identical scotland yard detectives, and Snowy, his little white terrier. god, they were so great!

this is Tintin and Snowy.
and Chandler knows them too!!! SQUEE!

so all my friends get out of school the day after tomorrow, and i've been bored out of my mind.
i've actually begun knitting a ravenclaw scarf, on top of my beadlings and i made myself a prefect pin, 'full moon' bottlecap necklace, and RAB locket.

i need help.

i've also been obsessive about Friends lately. i watched all of seasons 3,1, and 5. i want to watch season 4, but i can't find the disks. have i mentioned that i am in love with chandler? i even joined a fanlisting, and i'm not sure what that is. He's so funny and so cute in a pathetic way. i found one disk of season four, and purely because i was desperate for the adorableness that was Chandler during the Kathy-arc, i watched the episode where they *broke up*! ah well, maybe i'll find the rest somewhere.

i really do need help.
oh, and i can't find my glasses anywhere and it's unbelievably annoying.
